The first 30 minutes is gentle breath (digital pranayama). The following 60min is a unique practice in that it incorporates the usual shapes with bouts of 20 pumps of kaphalabhati breath throughout. In response to the forest fire air pollution, it is designed to move (sounds gross) mucus and encourage healthy lung functioning. It is provocative in the way the breath unclogs energy channels and your airways and even a negative mood - but in the way that it may feel worse before it feels better. You may even feel aggravated by the breath - and this may be an indication that it's exactly what you need. The class incorporates warriors, deep twists, forward folders, hips and backbends. Emphasis is on the lungs, heart and breath.
