Moving Excessive Tamas: Depression, Sadness & Overwhelm
FOR STRESS & DEPRESSION

1h 31m
Tamasic energy (heaviness) and working WITH it rather than against it - is key. A messy version of you is perfectly welcome here! This class was filmed in the thick of all the global chaos and I was noticing a lot of my friends and students were feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I hope this helps you if you feel sad, overwhelmed or down in the dumps.
The first 27 min is pranayama is a little bit of everything: Beginning with 108 bhastrikas to help pierce through initial heaviness and into a brief meditation practice.
From 27 min onward, I give a brief explanation of what tamasic energy and the practice is designed with strong intention for you: abs with block (or pillow), basic core practices, classic surya b's, longer holds W2 working with the two other energies (rajas/sattva) shining skull breath is also randomly thrown into this sequence to continuously lift tamas. There is a strong floor sequence as well that integrates the hips, quads, backbends and forward folds. We end with a shoulder stand sequence to convert your energy even more.

Sun (Surya) Kriya Breathwork (30 min)
This is one of my faves! It is energizing, positive-forward breath with the energy of the sun for lethargy, depression, tension and brain fog.
